Schuessler Salts

Wilhelm Schüssler (1821 – 1898) called this healing method “biochemical therapy” because he believed that illness arises through the deficiency of certain minerals in the body. Supplementation of these minerals will restore the metabolism and normalize body functions. He insisted that the supplementation should be administered in a diluted form to enable uptake beginning at the oral mucosa.

There are 12 basic Schuessler salts containing minerals that the body needs in relatively high quantities. Schüssler called them ‘functional substances’ or ‘tissue salts’ because they harmonize and regulate chemical processes within the cells.

Schuessler salts #13 to 27 represent trace elements and are used to modify the effects of the basic salts according to the given symptoms.
